Opinion Writing Preview

Student Sharing
1. The story was written by the editorial of the Lone Star Dispatch.
2. The story is about their opinions on the voice students have on their schedule.
3. They believe that FIT is important but that the punishment for it is to harsh. They also think that it should be every day so students could have more time to work. " I think the the shorter class time is worth the 30 minutes of study time."
4. They addressed what the teachers think about FIT time.
5. At one point they said "If administration really wants to prepare its students for the future, start by giving them a voice now.

The dawn of the technology age
1. Kelisie Stella wrote the story.
2. The story is about the new features for the office that are available online.
3. They believe that this implementation of the technology in the office being available for all students is very helpful, and creates a better education environment.
4. Yes, for the people who cant access the documents online they still have hard copies in the office.

I scream for Ice cream, Bluebells mistake
1.  The story was written by Nya Martin.
2. Its about the food poisoning situation that happened with BlueBell because they didn't clean their equipment, leading to the death of 3. And their return into stores and Nyas opinion of the whole thing.
3. Nya thinks that BlueBell should have never let this happen, and the actions they have taken to fix the problem is not sufficient.
4. She addressed her opinion on the situation because of bluebells actions.
5. Nya was not wishy washy with her statements.

The problem with Pep Rallies
1. Annika Holm wrote the story.
2. Its about Anika's opinion on Pep Rallies and how they can be better.
3. Annika believes that Pep Rallies should equally represent each sport, not just football, I absolutely agree with this. She also talks about how they should be on a friday rather than a thursday.
4. She addressed her opinion and thoughts on Pep Rallies.

Emotional Learning
1. The writer of the story is Melissa Werpen.
2.  Melissa writes about her opinion on SEL and what exactly it does for students.
3. Melissa believes that SEL learning time is important but the reinforcement of it isn't done well and could be improved.
4. Melissa did talk about how some people think that SEL learning time is pointless but usually those are the people that need it the most but don't realize it.
5. There is definetly some wish wash in this story, Melissa is definetly trying to encourage SEL learning time.

A Call for Athletic Equality
1. Amaya Marquez wrote the story.
2. The story is on Amaya's opinion on the unfair representation of sports here at Bowie.
3. Amaya believes that their should be more equal and fair representation of the sports at Bowie and they should get just as much attention
4. Amaya did not talk about the opinion of the other side, probably because their particularly isn't another side, I don't think their is anyone in particular who wouldn't want the representation of sports to not be equal.

A. Opinionated stories often are influenced by the writers opinion and thoughts of the situation, sometime changing the message that is delivered. Hard stories are based on facts and exact quotes making it true and telling the full story.
B. The reason there aren't that many photos for this story is because their aren't that many pictures that would relate to what the text was saying.
C. A few topics I think would be cool to see as an opinionated piece would be, climbing Mt Everest, Freerunnning, Cross Country, Over Protective Parents.
