Because apple has very good security and encription on their phones it is nearly impossible for a hacker and or government official to break into them. Which is why the government wants apple to make a unlock key to unlock amy phone whenever they want, apple however thinks this is a very foolish idea, and I would agree.

Whats Next For The Supreme Court:
The article talks about certain rules for situations like one of their judges dying and how they were to handle the replacement. As well as showing how idealogical shifts happen in the court as people switch out. The whole reason this is being talked about is because Justice Antonin Scalia recently died. I do think that congress should fix this problem, and is something that should have been changed or noticed early. Its gonna be weird though since the president is a democrat, but his term is almost up, and he has to choose the new justice. Its quite bad timing for Scalia to die, thats not his fault though. Personally though I don't care to much about politics or the government. Not because it doesn't affect me, because it does, but because I don't have time to care about it and its hard to listen to some of the politicians when there moral standards are just so wrong.

The conclusion was a statement.

1. My favorite photo in the paper is below the headline "Reaching the perfect balance"
I really enjoy this photo, first off because of the nice depth of field happening. As well as the photo taking picture of an action, it fells as if the photo is moving, and the reader is there, when the story took place.

2. My least favorite photo, not to complain, but probably was in the article about parkour that I was in.
First off since the photo that talks about seth, is actually of me. Which I found funny, but then the other photo that is shown to be of me, was when I was joking around. I wasn't actually doing parkour in the photo, I was literally throwing my body onto that obstacle as a joke, exactly why I was smiling. You don't usually smile when your doing parkour since you need to concentrate to achieve your goal, and to not get hurt. Also since the photographers had to come to BAM with us to get credit for the assignment, and not have me take the pictures, even though I am pretty darn good, but yet they didn't use the photos of me and seth doing flips or tricking, is a little annoying. We put on a good show to take pictures of, but the results weren't up to par. But the article itself I thought was really good, the writing was very to the point, glad someone took the time to interview me and my passion.

3. If I was a photographer, well I would have loved to have done parkour, but other than that I would have been super happy to shoot for steel drums. I am in steel drums and and have so many ideas for a creative steel drum picture its not even funny. I am super in to photography so even if i didn't get to shoot for something I liked, as a moral principle of who I am, I make sure the photo is interesting.

4. I thought the photography in this article was very good, It did lack quite some color though. There were more black and white photos than there usually are, which is fine, it just changes the feel of the a

Magazines Part II

1. Early Magazine Covers
Way back when, magazine covers were very simple, sometimes picture, just a title and the newspaper establishment that published it. Very similar to the format of a book cover.
2. The Poster Cover.
This cover is the exact opposite of the previous cover. Their is very little text and the cover really emphasizes the picture to catch the readers eye.
3. Pictures Married to Type
Similar to the poster cover, pictures married to type emphasize a picture to grab the viewers attention. But they also use lots of text to inform whats inside the magazine, and to yell at the reader that their is a interesting story they need to read.
4. In the forest of words
This cover type is like Pictures Married to Type, but with even more words. They call it a forest of words because in some cases it makes it harder to see the background subject, but informs the viewer of more information before they even open the magazine.

My Favorite Cover

Favorite Portrait: ESPN The Magazine, October 13, 2014, Derek Jeter

Description: "With the New York Yankees closing in on a fall vacation, it meant that the final home game for Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter would come in late September, when ESPN The Magazine was set to celebrate all things Cleveland. The future Hall of Famer's retirement dominated the sports world; the chorus of send-offs from columnists, TV hosts and commercials served as an early-fall replacement for October playoff talk. But The Magazine chose a cover that reflects more quiet reverence than extended standing ovation. It depicts The Captain--the most iconic baseball player of his era--in his tradition of leading the Yankees onto the field before each home game. This time, though, Jeter is silhouetted out of the frame and into an all-white background. Jeter isn't only running onto the field--but into immortality." - See more at: http://www.magazine.org/asme/magazine-cover-contest/past-winners-finalists/2015-winners-finalists#sthash.C7RPtEmp.dpuf

My Reason: I really like this portrait because it sends a really interesting and awesome message as simply as it can. It saying, that the person in the photo, Jeter, isn't afraid of his future, infact he is running right towards it. It emphasizes Jeters decision, and it does so in many ways. The first way is the lighting, everything is bright, it almost seems like he is in the clouds. Secondly, the absence of everything else but him, Its obvious the is the subject of the photo since nothing else is in it, this creates a really cool effect. They also kept his shadow in the future, which is quite symbolic since the magazine is about what he did in the past.

Prompt Shoot #2 Photos

Electricity

C.E #4.3

1. What are five things you should know about the Zika virus? Page A1
The zika virus is in travis county, its creates microcephaly, active in saliva and urine, pregnant woman are at risk, and there is no vaccine yet.
2. How is Ft. Hood promoting renewable energy? Page A1
They are creating a massive solar wind farm that is suspected of costing $100 million.
3. What are three of the top jobs that do not require a 4-year college degree? Page B7
An electrician, Plumber, and Building Inspector.
4. Who won the Super Bowl and what was the score? Page C1
The Denver Broncos won the super bowl 24 to 10.
5. Skim the Webb Report on Page D2, which story was the most interesting? Just give me the subheadline of the six stories there.

I think that #Nofilter likes to be the most interesting story out of
Horns up, start your engines, #nofilter, Austin family values, Newsmakers, and stolen miley sex doll.
It caught my eye because it featured a picture of some boys running the 2 mile race in track at sunset. It was a very well composed photo and stuck out to me since I do track as well.

Look at the Photo Extra Page SA1-SA4.
Which is your favorite photo? Why?
My favorite photo was "A beacon on the plains", I really liked this photo for a multiple of reasons. One it had very good framing and perspective, the sun was at the top of the church. Second, the effect the photo creates, makes the church feel big and tall. Lastly the snow makes everything brighter, along with singling out the church and making it the obvious subject of the photo.
Which photo had the most interesting stuff going on?
"Flight of the angel" I would say had the most things going on at once. It shows a crowded area with the woman obviously being the main subject, she is highlighted in a way and stands out of the crowd.
Which photo was the most boring?
I thought "Counted by hand" was the worst photo, because there wasn't much to care about in it. The photo is for the most part out of focus, and the overall content of the picture is boring. Even just a viewpoint change could have made this a better picture than what it is now.
Which photo had the most interesting subject?
"Battling the blaze" was filled with action and interest. The firefighter stands on a roof and all the viewer can see past him is a blaze of smoke and fire. Its quite powerful and scary to see a human be so close to the face of danger.

Portraits and Self Portraits

Alter Your Perspective

Most portraits are taken with the camera at (or around) the eye level of the subject. While this is good common sense – completely changing the angle that you shoot from can give your portrait a real WOW factor.
Get up high and shoot down on your subject or get as close to the ground as you can and shoot up. Either way you’ll be seeing your subject from an angle that is bound to create interest.

Introduce Movement

- Movement creates a sense of interest
Portraits can be so static – but what if you added some movement into them? This can be achieved in a few ways:
  • by making your subject move
  • by keeping your subject still but having an element in the scene around them move
  • by moving your camera (or it’s lens to achieve a zoom burst)

Settings—The Other Subject

The settings in which you make pictures of people are important because they add to the viewer's understanding of your subject. The room in which a person lives or works, their house, the city street they walk, the place in which they seek relaxation—whatever it is, the setting provides information about people and tells us something about their lives. Seek balance between subject and environment. Include enough of the setting to aid your image, but not so much that the subject is lost in it.
Environmental Portrait:

This photo is quite extraordinary to say the least. The lighting really helps the mood. You can see the light of his helmet and its beam in the photo. Did i forget to mention, they are on top of a flipping mountain! The detail, expression and overall quality of this photo is amazing.
Photography Self Portrait:

I really enjoy this photo and the creativity behind it. Its quite a simple photo to recreate but it has a lot of character. Its a photo that definitely catches your eye.
Casual Portrait:
Holy cow this is a very well done photo, The background, foreground and everything in general is so appealing to the eye. The colors really bring out the happiness and awesomeness of this photo.

1. What are the characteristics of an environmental portrait?
Environmental portraits should consist of having a recognizable environment, usually outdoors, and sometimes out of the photographers control of what happens in it.
2. What is the difference between an environmental portrait and a casual portrait?
Casual portraits are more to say something, and to be used for people to recognize a face, a environment portrait more of the time is an art, or is to mark a certain time when something happened.
3. What will you need to do to get a really good self-portrait?
Well its not usually the best idea to take a picture of yourself by yourself alone, so you need a photographer obviously, but besides that a good self portrait should be appealing to the eye and to the person is the "self".
4.  When you go take these pictures, and you will eventually turn in one of each, a portrait and a self-portrait, describe to me what you would like to do and who you would like to take a portrait of and where you might shoot these images.
I really like to incorporate colors and black and white like the picture I showed above. Also the framing I usually use is really close to the face or their whole body, I find the other positions to be a little awkward looking. I also like having a very simple background that either has a repeating pattern or is just a blank wall, or a background that totally makes the subject pop because they don't fit in to the scenario, like a lion in the middle of the ocean.
